A Look Through the Innovation Microscope and Insights into Credit Risk Trends

11:30 AM - Tuesday, September 24
Whistler Blackcomb Ballroom

Recent economic and societal shifts caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, housing trend shifts, and interest rate shocks have profoundly impacted the Canadian lending ecosystem making innovation, domain expertise, and explainability in credit risk scoring crucial. In this joint presentation between FICO and Canada Guaranty, we’ll share insights discovered in the FICO® Scores Innovation Lab leveraging recent Canadian credit risk data to show how macro-level systematic changes such as mortgage rate resets impact credit scores, risk, and resiliency of different consumer segments. We’ll also highlight the FICO Score team’s philosophy on complexity in model design vis-a-vis model explainability and transparency.
