The Senior Executive Risk Panel will feature three influential leaders from the credit industry: Chris Knight, Senior Vice President, Retail Risk Management, TD Bank; Marlene Lenarduzzi, Chief Risk Officer, EQ Bank; and Lora Paglia, SVP Retail Risk & CRO, Tangerine. This panel discussion will explore strategies for growth in the current economic climate while mitigating increasing risks. We will also discuss opportunities arising from new market innovations and share insights into potential major disruptors for the industry in 2025.

Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Wealth and Insurance, TD Bank

Chris has been with the bank for 20 years, during which he has held various management and leadership roles including VP & Head of North American Product –TD Auto Finance, SVP Life and Health Products –TD Insurance, SVP Human Resources –Corporate Functions, and most recently, SVP Retail Risk Management. In his current capacity as CRO and SVP, Wealth and Insurance, Chris is accountable for both Financial and Non-Financial risk oversight of the Global Wealth and Insurance business segments.

Chris has an Engineering Degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from Queens University. He is an avid skier and biker both of which he enjoys doing with his wife and two kids year-round.

Marlene Lenarduzzi

Chief Risk Officer, EQ Bank

Marlene Lenarduzzi is an accomplished financial services executive with over 20 years of experience in Risk Management and Banking, where she steered operations, risk quantification, strategy development, planning and execution. She currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Equitable Bank.

Prior to joining Equitable Bank, Marlene lead teams in Risk and Business at both BMO Financial Group and CIBC. Her extensive experience spans Retail and Commercial businesses and various risk types, including Credit, Model, and Market Risk.

Marlene is deeply committed to giving back to the community and holds several prestigious board positions. She currently serves as President of the Toronto Chapter of the Risk Management Association and is an active board member of the Young People’s Theatre as well as the Dean’s Advisory Board for the faculty of Engineering at McMaster University.

She holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from McMaster University, a Master of Applied Science from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Her diverse and stellar educational background, coupled with her two decades of experience in banking, gives Marlene a unique combination of technical skills and business acumen, which is reflected in her track record of delivering excellent results.
Outside of work, Marlene enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters as well a large extended Italian family. When she is not steering risk committees or spending time with her family, you’ll find Marlene outdoors – hiking, swimming or digging in her garden.
