Simon Howard
Simon Howard has more than 25 years of experience across credit risk, collections, customer engagement, payments, and financial technology in Canada, the UK, and Australia. Working for Dun & Bradstreet, Equifax and Experian he has been helping businesses understand the power of both Open banking data and developing digital transformation programs to balance the demands of regulatory compliance and the modern day consumer. In 2016, Simon deployed the first digital, open banking powered income and expenditure solution used by Santander & Clydesdale banks and then leading Telco O2. In 2018, Simon migrated to Canada and launched with partners Score Statistical an OMNI channel platform called SWIPE. Within 6 years, over 70% of collection agencies had adopted their SMS, Email and card payment solution as well as BNPL firms Questrade and Propel holdings. In 2022, Simon created the HUB, a platform adopted by two leading Canadian banks to monitor the activity of their third-party collection agencies digital engagement.
He is also the founder of SMARTI&E™, (Smart Income and expenditure) deployed in 2025, is the first Canadian affordability platform that combines open banking data and AI to drive consumer-consented financial insights to help organizations identify financial stress earlier, improve customer engagement, and create better outcomes for consumers and businesses alike.
Over the past 8 years Simon has spoken regularly in Canada and along with he’s consultancy partner Chris Warburton hosted Canada’s first Affordability Summit (March 2026) to help businesses address the cost of living crisis in Canada. Simon is also a member of the OFN (Open Finance Network) a leading voice for Open Banking adoption in Canada and a member of Prosper’s (largest Debt charity) roundtable formed to advise regulators and debt advice on how to help low income Canadians access credit and debt management solutions.
